What you can do in Zurich
I think almost every other weekend I think about what I can do in Zurich when I do not want to do the typical stuff which do on a normal day basis like going shopping, going to the cinema ect.Everyone has those day where you cannot find out what you want to do or where you wanna go to. But Zurich has a lot of beautiful spaces where you just can stroll arround or even do which most people do not know off.
Searching the perfect Coffee & Tea place
I think one of my favorit things to do is to stroll arround be like a tourist and searching for the most beautiful places in Zurich. There are often places where people of Zurich passes by but never take notice of. As example this amazing restaurant Metropol. I love the architecture of this building and I could walk by there for hours. When it is warm you can also sit outside and drink coffee.
Zurich has a lot of beautiful coffee and tea places therefore I could recommand you to have a look at my list of my favorit spots in Zurich: Coffee Spots in Zurich.
Of course arround the year there are a lot of markets and festivals which are famous in Zurich but a lot people do not know that there are also markets and little festivals all year arround in Zurich which are not that famous yet. As I am not the biggest fan of crowded places I like the little festivals and markets even more than the big ones.
Frau Gerold
Frau Gerolds Garden is also one of my favorit spot in the summer month there is the Montagsmarkt at this place which I think is an amazing idea. Also it is very interesting what you can find there. Also when it gets a little bit later you can go as well on the top and have some drinks, catch up with friends and enjoy the evening.
In the winter month Frau Gerolds Garden is an amazing place to eat fondue and fondue chinoise. They put a tent outside and decorate it so beautifully that it looks like a little home.
Rimini Bar
Also an amazing place is the Rimini Bar. Like in the Frau Gerolds Garden there is every year the Montagsmarkt where young desinger and pop up stores can sell their own creation. Which I think is really interesting and also you can sit there drink something, go for a swim and they have pizza es well.. I mean for what could you even ask more?
Streetfoodfestival Zurich
One of my all time favorit things to do is joining the Streetfoodfestival of Zurich. I did a whole post about the Streedfoodfestival of 2016 which was next to the Güterbahnhof which you can find here.
Streetfoodfestival is also sometimes next to the Hardturm which I also joined this year.
Strolling arround
As already mentioned is strolling arround in Zurich also just beautiful by itself. So walking arround you will see a lot of stunning spots. I am a big fan of the european architecture therefore I love to walk arround Seefeld and look at the stunning buildings and take some pictures of them there.
Lake of Zurich aka "Züri See"
Also one of the most popular places in Zurich is definately the Lake of Zurich. In the summer all the people go there to lay arround, go for some swim, eat ice cream or just meeting their friends their. It is very croweded in the summer times and it is definately a great place to spend your day at.
In the colder months it is also beautiful to take there some walks but of course it is very cold so I would suggest to go afterwards for some hot chocolate to keep yourself warm.
I am also a total fan of the festival or events which take place next to the lake.
As example when it is the festival "Touch the Lake" which I think is a really cool concert. Also there is a VR-Open-Air-Cinema at the Mythenquai in the summer which I think is a totally cool idea to do in the evening. Also there are a lot of Open-Air-Cinema in summer at the Zurich lake as example the Allianz Cinema which is an amazing aternative for a usuall cinema.
Boat, Ship or Pedalo Tour
I am the person who really like ships and boats therefore a day journey to cross the Zurich Lake will be an amazing thing to do. Or to just rent a pedalo and paddle arround would be a nice way to spend the day outside at the sun. There are also pedalo with a slide which you are able to rent.
Park Platzspitz
If you wanna go for a walk I would suggest you also to go to the park Platzspitz where you can pass and go afterwards to the Limmatbadi to take a swim there. In the winter months it is not the nicest place I think so I only go there if I have to walk my dog. But if you also have a dog it is a nice place to get some new dog friends.
Finding the perfect brunch local in Zurich
As the most people I am also a food lover. Therefore I think it is also a nice way to find out your favorit brunch spot in Zurich. I am still try to find my perfect place. Chocolate places like Sprüngli
It would not be a what you should do in Zurich without meantioning Sprüngli. I love to go there and treat myself with an amazing hot chocolate or some ice cream in the summer. It is definately a nice place and a very photogentic spot in Zurich.
Perfect Rooftop spot
One of the most beautiful rooftop spots in Zurich is definately the Rooftop Restaurant at the top of the modissa building.
Also an amazing rooftop place is the Hiltl Dachterasse. It is a vegan place which is perfectly located when you were planing to go shopping as well.
Botanical Garden of Zurich
The Botanical Garden of Zurich is definately a wonderful place when it is a good weather day. It is free and you can walk all arround the garden and also you can go into the conservatories.
I think there are amazing places and thing to do in Zurich. I am also still exploring and learning more about the city. I do love to try out some new stuff and if you may could recommand me a new place to go I would definately join it.
