ONE DAY IN MILAN, ITALY 2016

At the moment it is very difficult for my boyfriend and I to travel. We both love to travel but unfortunately our work and also the money do not allowed it at the moment.

But this weekend I decided to visite Milan again and I always wanted to go to Italy for christmas time.

Earlier this year I spend one day in Milan with my boyfriend and we really loved it but later in this year my boyfriend had to change his travel subscription so to visite Milan was getting really expensive for him.

At 09:00 o'clock I reached the Zurich Hauptbahnhof 30 min earlier than my train to Milan arrives just to have enough time to catch a starbucks coffee as well.

I like the atmosphere of Zurich in the morning it just feels like the city support early birds.

The train ride to Milan was very comfortable because I never had to change the train so the time passed really fast.

As I arrived in Milan I went directly to the Duomo. On my way I saw some amazing decorations and christmas lightlings as you can see below. In Zurich we also have some amazing christmas decorations but I am getting always exciting to see some.

I really loved these christmas tree balls which were everywhere in these little shopping street. Especially because they made typical christmas music. It was really icky but I loved it!

I also really felt in love with this brick house and those amazing christmassy windows.

One of the most beautifulst decorations had Cartier. They really nailed this christmas decoration. The whole building was wrapped with a big bow so it looked a bit like it was wrapped in wrapping papier.

Duomo

After 1 hour of losing my actual target I finally reached the Duomo. The Duomo is one of the most beautiful buildings I can think of. I really love it and it was one of the reason why I wanted to visite Milan again. So I went straight to the ticket shop to go upstairs of the Duomo..

I wanted a picture like this below for ages but I never came to it. But in my little trip I wanted to try one of this pictures. So I used my bag as a little tripod and set a self-timer to took some pictures of myself. I am really happy about the results.

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele

After some amazing picutes of the Duomo I wanted to go trough the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. It is also one of the most amazing buildings I know and so I could not missed it.

The most wonderfull moment of my little trip was the swarovski tree in the mittle of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. These christmas trees are always my favorit ones.

WHERE I ATE

Very late in the day I finally found a restaurant where I did not have to line up for something to eat. The restaurant Granaio Caffé e Cucina was very delicious and also very well decorated. I did not take a lot of pictures because I only wanted to eat something. I was so hungry I did not even took a picture of my pizza which is very strange for me.

TIME TO GO HOME

After a very long day in Milan I had to walk back to the Milano Centrale. On my way I passed again the little shopping streets with their amazing christmassy decorations. Of corse I had to take some shoots of it.

My little trip was a real challenge for myself. Milan is about 4 hours away from Zurich so there was a very long way home. I was very proude to managed it alone. But I think I would not do it again because it is really tough and exhausing to be alone in such a stressfull city.
I also think in the winter time it gets dark very soon so you have to be there very early to have enough times for pictures. So one day is almost to short for Milan. Especially to find a good restaurant or café it is really difficult even I had planed to go to some but there were always so many people and I did not have the time to wait as long.

So I was very tired in the evening when I had to drive back home. I also choose the train which I had to change trains 4 times because it was really cheap but this was not a good idea.

But I am not mad that I did the trip. I learned a lot and I have taken some amazing pictures. Also I had some amazing moments with strangers and I really do enjoy such moments. I also did not feel like Milan was a foreign city I do feel like I was in a common city.

I hope you like the pictures about my little trip to Milan and may I also inspired you to do an one day trip to see more about our little world. I would love to here about your experience!

Also please if you are from Milan I would love to hear some advice for next time!
